School & youth groups

We get kids to connect with nature and disconnect from their electronic devices.

We offer custom adventures and summer camps for school and youth groups (up to twenty people, including adults).  Activities include: camping, mountain biking, hiking, wet/dry canyoneering, rappelling, backpacking, outdoor cooking, primitive skills, primitive anasazi pottery, art, orienteering, geology, biology, poetry, yoga, and mindfulness learning/practices.

The youth are the future voice of change and greater awareness.  Sticks and Stones Adventures’ youth trips are designed to foster opportunities for students to build a deeper connection with nature.  Students gain a greater appreciation and understanding of stewardship and preservation of their destinations and their own local ecosystem.

We aim to do this by offering extended overnight stays in remote backcountry areas. These multi-day trips will provide students with an opportunity to experience time away from electronics and social media.  When they disconnect from modern distractions, we have the opportunity to help you educate and create a richer experience in nature.

Every day begins with awareness activities, mindfulness practices, and contextual educational discussions before adventures begin.  We conclude each day with time for reflection/observation to help students understand and connect with the southern Utah ecosystem.

"Kayd, I just want to thank you again for the amazing 7 day adventure you set up for me and my 12 outdoor education students for Spring Break. I know I had a very active group of boys, but you and your staff handled them with great compassion and humor. Your team was extremely knowledgeable and went the extra mile to ensure that my students felt safe. You and your staff never had any of my students doing anything that was not within their capabilities. Your gear was top notch, and your knowledge of the local landscape and history were impressive. We will be booking again next year."
